Privacy Policy & Donation Terms
How we handle your information, and what happens when you give.

Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Lehachyois collects when you use www.lehachyois.org, why we collect it, and who else sees it. It applies to this website. It does not cover other organizations we link to.
The short version
The full policy is below, and it is short enough to read. This is what it says:
- We collect what we need to process your donation and thank you for it. Nothing more.
- We never see your full card number. It goes straight to our payment processor.
- We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with other organizations for their fundraising or marketing. Not now, not ever.
- This site uses no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking cookies.
- You can ask us what we hold, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email or call.
Who we are
Lehachyois is a registered nonprofit organization, EIN 84-4759425. Where this policy says "we" or "us," it means Lehachyois. Our mailing address is 51 Forest Rd #316-214, Monroe, NY 10950. You can reach us at info@lehachyois.org or 718-682-2005.
What we collect
There is one form on this website: the donation form. Almost everything we hold about you comes from it.
- What you enter to donate
- Your first and last name, email address, phone number, and billing address (street, city, state, ZIP, and country). The amount you give, whether it is one-time or monthly, and whether you chose to cover the processing fee. If you write a dedication — in honor or in memory of someone — we receive that too. Please do not put sensitive personal information in the dedication field.
- Your card details — which we do not receive
- The card number and security code are typed into fields that our payment processor hosts inside our page. They go directly to the processor and are replaced with a one-time code that authorizes only that charge. Your full card number and security code never reach our systems and are never stored by us.
- Standard technical information
- Like every website, ours records ordinary request information — your IP address, your browser type, and the page you asked for. We use your IP address briefly, in memory, to stop automated abuse of the donation form. Our hosting provider keeps its own server logs.
- Whatever you tell us directly
- If you email, call, or write to us, we have what you chose to send.
That is the whole list. To be equally clear about what is not on it: this site has no donor accounts and no logins. It runs no analytics, no advertising tools, and no tracking or advertising cookies. We do not buy information about you from anyone, and we do not combine what you give us with information from outside sources.
How we use it
- To process your donation and, for a monthly gift, the ones that follow.
- To issue a receipt or a year-end acknowledgment for your taxes when you ask for one.
- To reach you if something goes wrong with your gift — a declined card, a duplicate charge, an amount that looks like a mistake.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To keep the donation records a tax-exempt organization is required to keep.
- To protect the donation form from fraud and automated abuse.
We do not send marketing email from this website. If that ever changes, it will be something you opt into, and you will be able to stop it in one click.
Who else sees it
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your information with other charities, organizations, or list brokers for their own fundraising or marketing.
The only parties that receive any of your information are the ones that make the website and the donation work, and each one gets only what it needs to do its job:
- Our payment processor
- Sola (formerly Cardknox) processes card donations. It receives your name, contact details, billing address, and card information in order to complete the charge and, for monthly gifts, to hold the schedule. Your card details go to it directly, not through us.
- Our website host
- Vercel serves this website and keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
- Our media storage
- Supabase stores and serves the photographs and video on this site. It receives no donor information.
- Adobe Fonts
- The headline typeface on this site is served by Adobe. Loading any page sends Adobe a request for the font, and that request carries your IP address. It receives nothing you type.
- Our accountants and advisors
- Professionals who work on our books or advise us, under a duty of confidentiality.
- When the law requires it
- If we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, or court order, or where it is necessary to protect someone from harm.
Keeping it safe
The whole site is served over an encrypted connection. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are tokenized in your browser, which means the most sensitive information involved in a donation is never in our hands to lose.
No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we hold as little as possible, we limit who can reach it, and if we ever learn of a breach affecting your personal information we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep donation records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet our record-keeping obligations as a tax-exempt organization — generally at least 7 years. Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful. When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.
Your choices
At any time, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information, except what we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes.
- Stop contacting you.
- Cancel a monthly donation. See the donation terms below.
Email info@lehachyois.org or call 718-682-2005. We will respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request about someone's personal information.
Some states give residents specific privacy rights by law. Most of those laws exempt nonprofit organizations, and we are not currently subject to them. We offer the choices above to everyone anyway, because they are the right thing to offer.
Photographs of the families we serve
The photographs and video on this site show real families who receive our support, and we publish them with permission. If you appear in a photograph on this site and would like it taken down, email or call us and we will remove it. You do not need to give a reason.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to other organizations, including Geb a Challah. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s website, under their privacy practices, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top of the page. If we ever begin using website analytics, session-recording, or advertising tools, we will update this page before we turn them on, not after.
Donation Terms
These terms describe what happens when you give through this website — what you are charged, when, and how to change or stop it.
Your donation
Your gift goes to Lehachyois, EIN 84-4759425, a registered nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. All amounts on this site are in U.S. dollars.
Unless you give to a specific campaign, your donation supports our work generally. Even within a campaign, we direct funds where the need is greatest — a family whose situation has changed does not wait for a category to match. A dedication you write is an inscription on your gift, not a restriction on how it is used.
One-time gifts
A one-time gift is charged once, to the card or account you choose, at the moment you submit the form. Nothing further is charged.
Monthly gifts
When you choose a monthly gift, you are authorizing a recurring charge. Here is exactly what that means:
- The first charge happens immediately, when you submit the form.
- The same amount is then charged once a month, on or about the same day each month.
- The amount never changes on its own. We will not increase it without asking you first.
- It continues until you tell us to stop — or, if you chose a set number of months, until that number is reached, and then it ends by itself.
To cancel a monthly gift, email info@lehachyois.org or call 718-682-2005 and tell us to stop it. We will cancel it before the next charge and confirm to you that it is done.
There is no way to cancel from this website today — asking us is the only way, and it is a real way. Someone reads that inbox and answers that phone. If you cancel and a charge has already gone through, tell us and we will look at it under the refunds section below.
If a monthly payment does not go through — an expired card, a change of bank — the gift may stop. We may contact you to let you know.
Refunds and corrections
Donations are gifts, and they are put to work quickly — often within days, in food and support for families who are waiting for it. So we do not offer refunds as a matter of course.
But if something is wrong with your donation, tell us and we will make it right where we can.
That includes a duplicate charge, an amount that is not what you intended, a monthly gift that should have been stopped, a charge you did not authorize, or a change in your own circumstances. There is no deadline and no form. Email or call, tell us what happened, and we will review it individually and come back to you.
One request: come to us before disputing the charge with your bank. We can almost always resolve it faster than a dispute can, and a dispute against a charity costs the families we support more than the donation itself was worth.
How you can give
This site accepts credit and debit cards, and the charity cards used in our community — OJC, Donors Fund, Matbia, Pledger, and iMasser.
You can also give by check or bank transfer. Contact us at info@lehachyois.org or 718-682-2005 and we will give you the details.
The largest gift this form accepts is $50,000. For anything larger, please contact us directly and we will arrange it.
If you choose to cover the processing fee, that amount is added to your total and is part of your donation.
Receipts
For a receipt, or a year-end acknowledgment for your taxes, email info@lehachyois.org or call 718-682-2005 and we will send you one.
Using this site
When you donate, you are confirming that the payment method is yours or that you are authorized to use it, and that the information you have given us is accurate. We may decline or reverse a donation if we have reason to believe otherwise.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
