Lehachyois Programs — Yom Tov Distributions, Geb a Challah & Year-Round Support in Tzfat (Safed)
Six ways one city is sustained.
Each program answers a real need in Tzfat. Each is delivered the way the Rabbanim ask: quietly, with dignity.
How it works
From your hand to their table
Between your donation and a family’s table there are only 3 steps.
You give
Choose a monthly partnership or a one-time gift. It takes about 2 minutes.
The Rabbanim guide us
The rabbanim and gabbaim of Tzfat’s 22 kehillot tell us where the need is real. They know their families.
A family receives
Packages and support reach the family directly, with discretion and respect. No family in Tzfat is left behind.

1,000+ families · every Yom Tov
Yom Tov Distributions
Before every Yom Tov, especially Pesach and Sukkot, Lehachyois provides over 1,000 families from every community in Tzfat with a full selection of Yom Tov essentials: matzah, wine, chicken, and the basic groceries a family needs to celebrate with dignity and joy. The distributions are held at the Lelover Beis Medrash and have become known throughout the city.

2,000+ challot weekly · 3 locations · since 2021
Geb a Challah
Our best-known program. Every Friday, families across Tzfat receive fresh challot for Shabbat: over 2,000 a week, from 3 distribution locations. It began with one phone call from a father in a grocery store, and it has run every single week since 2021.

Simchas at cost
Chesed Kitchen
Our central community kitchen lets families celebrating a simcha order high-quality meals at cost. It makes weddings and bar mitzvahs affordable and takes a real weight off the parents.

Quiet, steady, year-round
Widows & Orphans Fund
Throughout the year, Lehachyois provides dedicated financial and emotional support to the widows and orphans of Tzfat. Steady, discreet help that eases daily challenges and protects dignity.

The milestone of a lifetime
Adopt-a-Wedding
When a family reaches the milestone of marrying off a child, Lehachyois steps in with special assistance toward the significant expenses, so the simcha can be celebrated with honor.

Beyond relief
Parnassah Initiative
Beyond emergency assistance, we help individuals secure stable employment and sustainable sources of income. The goal is long-term independence: families who can stand on their own.
Every program runs on partnership.
Monthly partners are what let us say yes: before every Yom Tov, every Shabbat, all year round.
